The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has arrived in Kano ahead of a meeting with stakeholders and top leaders of the party in the state.
Daily News 24 reports that Dr Ganduje landed at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Wednesday evening.
The APC national chairman was accompanied by senior party members including the state chairman of the party, Abdullahi Abbas and Murtala Sule Garo, the deputy governorship candidate of the party in the 2023 elections.
It is understood that Mr Ganduje, the immediate past governor of the state is coming to Kano for the first time since his appointment as the APC National Chairman last year.
His visit came less than two weeks after the Supreme Court affirmed the election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as the duly elected governor of Kano.
Reports have indicated that following the APC’s defeat in the state, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had called a meeting of the party leaders in Kano and advised them to reconcile with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the opposition NNPP and Mr Yusuf’s political godfather.
Mr Ganduje is expected to hold an elaborate meeting with the APC stakeholders in the state on Thursday (tomorrow) at 2pm, as part of moves to reposition the party and court.
