Nigeria is at a critical crossroads, facing a systemic crisis of neglecting our youth’s education, denying them job opportunities, and ignoring the scourge of drug abuse and poverty. The End-Sars and End-Bad Governance Protests, which turned violent and bloody, are a stark reminder of this collective failure, transcending political party lines. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other leaders must stop blaming political opponents and confront the real issue of youth neglect and moral decadence.
The consequences of neglecting our youth are severe and will lead to increased violence and social unrest, economic instability and stagnation, and a lost generation of young people. It’s time to prioritize the needs of the youth by investing in education, job creation, and poverty alleviation, addressing the root causes of drug abuse and supporting those affected. Our nation’s future and safety depend on it.
Educating our youth and providing them with a good future is crucial for stability and prosperity. We must recognize that the youth are not just future leaders but also present change-makers, with the energy, creativity, and passion to drive positive change. Let’s come together to build a better future for our youth by investing in their education, providing job opportunities, and supporting their entrepreneurial spirit.
However, parents and guardians also have a critical role to play in bringing up well-disciplined children. They must take responsibility for instilling values of hard work, integrity, and respect for authority in their children. This includes providing a supportive and nurturing environment, setting clear boundaries and expectations, and modeling good behavior.
We must also address the root causes of drug abuse and support those affected. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and our nation to get it right. Democracy and protest are intertwined, but peaceful protests are unlikely when the majority of youth are uneducated, jobless, drug addicts, and living in abject poverty. The time to act is now, and we must work together to create a brighter future for all.
Our youth are the backbone of our nation, and their neglect is a recipe for disaster. We must act now to address the systemic issues facing our youth, or risk losing an entire generation to violence, poverty, and despair. We need to provide our youth with the tools and resources they need to succeed, and support them in their endeavors.
This includes investing in education and skills development, creating job opportunities and stimulating entrepreneurship, addressing the root causes of drug abuse and supporting those affected, and providing a safety net for the most vulnerable. By working together, we can create a brighter future for our youth and for Nigeria as a whole.
God bless Nigeria.
