Former Daily Trust Correspondent, Aliyu Hamagan has been attacked by hoodlums at his residence in Minna, the state capital.
It was reliably gathered that the attack by miscrients left the veteran Journalist seriously injured.
He was said to have been attacked around 2am by the criminals last week and inflicted serious injuries on his head and back with knife and cutlasses, he was hospitalized for days at the general hospital Minna before he was discharged
Hotpen reports that, Aliyu Hamagam, an indigene of Gombe State had served as a one time Correspondent of Daily Trust in Gombe, Niger, Jigawa and Kebbi states before leaving the media outfit.
Still with the injuries, his attackers catered away with his laptop, iphone and a small phone among other valuables.
The recuperating Hamagam expressed shock on how he was attacked by the miscrients who flashed touch light directly on his eyes and request to remain silent throughout their operation that lasted for almost an hour.
He however thanked Allah for his life and express regret that during the operation the hoodlums threaten to kill him as the entire house was surrounded by their colleagues.
Contacted on telephone, Public Relations Officer Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun said he is not aware of the attack but will find out from the Divisional Police Officer DPO from that Area before commenting on the matter.
