Three man delegation headed by Zamfara state commissioner of education science and technology, Hon. Wadatau Madawaki visited Cyprus in line with the blueprint of the current administration in Zamfara state under Governor Dauda Lawal to boost education sector.
Addressing journalists in her office Tuesday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Haj. Dr. Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri said, about 88 indigent students are studying in Cyprus on state scholarship.
The delegation which is headed by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Mal. Wadatau Madawaki has Alh. Bello Auta the Honourable Commissioner of Finance and Alh. Barau Ma’azu Special Adviser on Economic Matters as members of the team.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Haj. Dr. Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri said, about 88 indigent students are studying in Cyprus on state scholarship.
According to her, the visit of the state delegation is to look into the financial disposition of the students, their health, academic performances, general wellbeing of the students hence in a foreign country and to also settle the financial backlog owed the school by the past administration which she said caused a lot of difficulties to the students before the inception of the Governor Dauda Lawal’s government.
The Permanent Secretary Haj. Dr. Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri applauded the efforts of Governor Dauda Lawal whom she said has being the force behind any successes so far recorded in the education sector through giving his supports at all times.
She further opined that the ministry is well positioned under the Commissionership of Mal. Wadatau Madawaki will always do its best to complement the efforts of the state government.
Dr. Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri called on parents whose children are in Cyprus to pray for better achievements of the current administration in line with its policy direction.
She also enjoined everyone in the state to pray for the delegation to undergo a successful tour which she affirmed it is for the benefit of the state and nation at large.
