The Hon. Special Adviser to Jigawa State Governor on Salary and Pension, Alh. Bashar Ado Kazaure has debunked rumour in speculation which says ‘Jigawa state governor has approved the payment of N70,000 national minimum wage to its workers’, describing it as untrue and mischief capable of tarnishing his image.
In a statement issued to newsmen by Comrade Hannafi Yakubu Jawo on behalf of the Hon. Special Adviser to the Governor on Salary and Pension said “It has come to our attention that unverified and misleading news has been circulating on various social media platforms regarding alleged implementation of a new minimum wage of ₦70,000 by the Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar A. Namadi.
“We wish to clarify that this information is false and has not been confirmed by any official source, it is a purely mischievous and twisted publication capable of tarnishing the reputation of the Jigawa state government and the Hon Special Adviser to the Governor on Salary and Pension”. It noted.
The statement added that the news in circulation is not only inaccurate but also confusing and misleading that lacks logical consistency, making it difficult to understand, added that appears to be part of a deliberate attempt to discredit the Hon. Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Salary and Pensions, Alhaji Bashir Ado Kazaure.
Recalled, unverified, misleading and controversial press statement was issued and published to one of the online media (not Hotpen) quoting the Hon. Special Adviser to the Governor on Salary and Pension Alh Bashir Ado Kazaure as saying ‘Jigawa state Governor has approved the implementation of N70,000 minimum wage to the state workers’.
While on the other hand the statement went ahead and said the committee saddled with the task of advicing the Governor on implementation of the minimum wage has completed its assignment 90% and will soon submit to the Governor for approval.
“In the unsigned statement it also said the Hon. Special Adviser on Salary and Pension Alh Bashir Ado Kazaure disclosed this shortly after casting his vote at Kanya Babba, the truth of the matter is that, SA on Salary hailed from Kazaure local government while Kanya Babba is in Babura local government, what has brought him to Kanya Babba to cast his vote”? It questioned.
The general public, media outlets, and social media influencers are advised to refrain from sharing or spreading such unverified claims, stressed that misinformation of this nature can lead to public confusion and unfairly damage the reputation of individuals.
“For accurate and official updates, please rely solely on statements issued by the Jigawa State Government or relevant authorities”. The statement advised.
