Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Kano students studying in India.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
During a recent visit to the Nigerian Embassy in New Delhi, Governor Yusuf engaged embassy officials in discussions aimed at bolstering bilateral relations and ensuring the safety, welfare, and academic success of Kano indigenes in India.
The governor stressed the importance of supporting students abroad, noting that their academic achievements are vital to Kano’s progress.
He emphasized his administration’s dedication to creating enabling conditions for students to thrive academically and return to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
In response, the Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria in New Delhi, Ubong Akpan Johnny, commended the governor for his proactive efforts and assured him of the embassy’s full cooperation.
Johnny reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare and safety of Kano students, as well as the broader Nigerian community in India.
Similarly, Musbahu Bashir Sadi, the Head of Chancery at the High Commission, pledged continued support for the welfare and security of Kano students.
He praised Governor Yusuf’s leadership, describing his visit as a testament to his dedication to the well-being of Kano citizens abroad.
The governor’s visit highlights Kano State Government’s resolve to foster international partnerships that uplift its citizens, promote cultural exchange, and enhance educational opportunities.
