The Jigawa State Hisbah Board has inaugurated seven heads of newly created units as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve service delivery across the state.
Addressing the gathering, Secretary of the Board and Legal Adviser, Mustapha Habu Gumel, formally introduced the newly appointed heads of units and their respective portfolios. He explained that the appointments followed a management resolution to establish specialized units that would improve coordination and efficiency within the Board.

According to him, the creation of the units is designed to enhance the Board’s performance and ensure effective implementation of its statutory responsibilities.
In his remarks, the Deputy Commander General, Dr. Hussain Yusuf Baban, outlined the functions and responsibilities of the newly established units, urged the appointees to carry out their duties with dedication, integrity, and in strict compliance with the laws establishing the Jigawa State Hisbah Board.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commandant General of the Jigawa State Hisbah Board, Dr. Fa’iz Bashir Haruna, commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi for his commitment to repositioning the Hisbah institution through its transformation into a Board.
He acknowledged the Governor’s support in strengthening the Board through the recruitment of additional personnel, upward review of staff allowances, provision of operational vehicles, distribution of new uniforms, and the supply of other working materials.

Dr. Haruna stressed the need for teamwork and collaboration among officers at the headquarters, zonal commands, and local government offices to achieve the Board’s mandate effectively.
He noted that the appointment of the unit heads followed a rigorous screening process, expressing confidence in their competence and ability to deliver on their responsibilities.
“The appointments were based on merit after careful screening. I have every confidence that each of you is capable of delivering on your assignment. I pray that Allah grants you wisdom and guidance in the discharge of your responsibilities, as the reward for sincere service is not limited to this world alone,” he said.
The newly inaugurated officials are Sagiru Salisu Gwaram, Head of Operations Department; Aminu Ahmad Kiyawa, Head of Security and Intelligence Department; Abdulhamid A. Adam, Head of Guidance and Counselling Department; Maryam G. Ibrahim, Head of Women Affairs Department; Gambo Idi Ali, Training and Provost Officer; Dauda Muhammad (Hadejia), Public Relations and Media Officer; and Mudassir Muhammad, Personal Assistant and Protocol Officer to the Commandant
