The Jigawa State Government has honoured former Governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, during a major Galaxy ITT Reform Summit held in Abuja from August 26 to 28, 2026.
The summit focused on developing new strategies for Galaxy ITT reform and building a modern, sustainable, and transparent infrastructure system that will attract investment and support the growth of technology and the economy in Jigawa.

At the event, the crucial role played by former Governor Ibrahim Saminu Turaki in conceiving the idea of establishing Galaxy ITT and Galaxy Backbone was highlighted.
Turaki who attended the summit to give his blessings and remind participants of the original vision behind the establishment of the system.
The summit was attended by top Jigawa State Government officials and key stakeholders in technology and state development, including the Commissioner for Justice, Commissioner for Basic Education, Accountant General, DG NITDA, MD of Galaxy, DG of Investment, DG of JATA, DG of JSICTDEA, and other senior officials.
In conclusion, participants renewed their commitment to building a strong, transparent, and sustainable digital system that will serve as one of the pillars of Jigawa’s technological and economic development.
