A former Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sani Lawan Kofar Mata, is dead.
Credible sources told Solacebase that Kofar Mata died Sunday evening in Kano due to ill health.
The late politician was an associate of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau in the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and was very prominent during the 2007 governorship election.
The deceased later left the ANPP in 2011 alongside other senior members of the party before subsequently joining the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
It was gathered that the funeral prayer will hold tomorrow, Monday by 9.00 am at his residence.
