Kano Gov’t Committed to Expanding Access to Quality Education – Prof. Hafsat Ganduje

HOTPEN – The wife of Kano State Governor, Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has congratulated children nation-wide for witnessing the 2022 children’s day while assuring the commitment of Kano’s government to expand access to quality education for all children in the state.
The Children’s Day is observed on 27 May every year since 1964 In Nigeria. The day draws attention and brings to the fore awareness on problems faced by children nation-wide with the view to address them.
This year’s Children’s Day was commemorated on the theme; “Strengthening Supportive Systems for the Protection of Nigeria Child: A Wake-Ip Call”.
The first lady said “We remained committed to increasing access to quality education to foster development in tandem with the goal 4, (Quality Education) of the Sustainable Development Goals, 2030 Agenda”.
Prof. Hafsat Ganduje who celebrated this year’s children day in company of the State Hon. Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad-Umar noted that the best way to celebrate these children is to Inculcate good moral values, discipline, hard-working and honesty which are essential ingredients needed to sustain democratic institutions for national development”.
In her welcome address, Dr. Zahra’u, said that the ministry, through the significant assistance from the state government has initiated policies that have impacted on the general wellbeing of children in the state.
She added that Kano State was committed, more than ever before, to creating safe spaces for children with its aggressive fight against human trafficking, which is one of the greatest crimes against humanity.
Dr. Zahra’u further explained that strengthening a system for the protection of Nigeria’s children is not the sole responsibility of government but includes the synergy of parents/guardians and the government in surfacing a conducive environment for the growth and development of all the children.
