HOTPEN – Kwara state police command Thursday said it was working round the clock towards rescuing an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Abdulmumini Yusuf, abducted by gunmen on Tuesday night.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Okasanmi Ajayi said, “the motive of the abduction is still sketchy”.
He however, said, “The incident, as serious as it is, has not diminished the resolve of the command to protect lives/property of the citizens”.
Ajayi added that, the gunmen abducted ASP Yusuf, in Ilorin, Kwara state capital Tuesday night while he was about to enter his house in Ogidi after the close of work.
The victim, popularly called “Emirate No1”, is serving at the area command in Ilorin.
It was gathered that the Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama, has since visited the community following the development.
There have been heavy patrol of police officers around the community following the incident.
