Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state on Thursday seek for the support of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in promoting the laudable achievements of his administration.
The governor made this known while declaring open, the Annual General Meeting and Election of the Bauchi state chapter of NIPR held at Hazibal Hotel, Bauchi.
Governor Bala Mohammed said in appreciation for the positive contributions of members of the Institute to societal development, his administration will partner with the chapter for the training of practitioners.
He expressed gratitude for the cordial relationship existing between the Institute and the state government, assuring that the relationship will not only be sustained, but grow from strength to strength.
The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Media, Comrade Muktar Gidado announced the provision of a utility vehicle and office accommodation for NIPR in Bauchi in fulfilment of his promise made during his investiture recently by the National body.
Said he:-“The Annual General Meeting of the State Chapter which is coming after the successful hosting of the National Annual General Meeting/Election of the Institute which I understand was the first of its kind in the North-East sub region since the establishment of the Institute in 1963 is by no means an achievements worthy of commendation.”
Governor Bala who briefed the participants on the policies of his government, said the administration shown total commitment to infrastructural development as well as turning around all sectors for the socio-economic development of the state.
The governor assured that his administration is fully committed to the formulation and implementation of programmes geared towards repositioning the state and uplifting the living standard of people.
In a key note address, the NIPR National President, Malam Muktar Zubairu Sirajo said recently the National body of the Institute had inaugurated a National Planning Committee for Citizens Summit on National Integration, Peace and Security as ideas generated from the Summit will be transformed into a blueprint and policy recommendations for governments at all levels.
“The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is of the strong conviction that this battle and the search for peace could be won at another front. While in no way attempting to erode the import of the efforts of our armed forces and security agencies, we believe that in order to complement those efforts there is now the compelling need to seek citizen derived solutions and actions based on people-to-people approach to regalvanise and re-energize our nationhood”. He added.
Malam Muktar Sirajo stated further that, it is now time for all to join hands to rebuild trust and reopen conversations on the new trajectory to Nigeria’s rebirth for the country to overcome it numerous challenges.
