Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki on Thursday said that his one vote will not make his deputy Shuaibu Philip to become the next governor of the State.
The governor disclosed this to Newsmen at the Ramat house in Bauchi shortly after the closed-door meeting with Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and the former Akwa Ibom governor, Emmanuel Udom.
He said that they are in the Bauchi state to congratulate Senator Bala over his victory at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Obaseki said only good people of the state and the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would decide if Shuaibu would emerge gubernatorial candidate of the party.
“I don’t think my vote alone can make my deputy Philip Shuaibu to become governor, but people of the state”
“The relationship as you know is cordial; he wants to run for the office I currently occupy; he is free to, and I think as a Nigerian, he has a constitutional right nobody can’t and should stop him.
“The party would decide and also only the members of the party would decide who would be the flag bearer of our party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo state.”
