The house of representative member representing Maru and Bungudu federal constituency in Zamfara state, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu has granted a scholarship to 118 students of Federal College of Education Technical Gusau.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after the disbursement of the scholarship to the beneficiaries in Bungudu Town the headquarters of Bungudu local government Thursday, the chairman Hon. Zubairu Scholarship Committee, Muhammad Adamu said the gesture will be sustain.
According to him, the beneficiaries were drawn from Maru and Bungudu local government which included males and females.
“The aims of the scheme is to assist less privileged students to pay for their registration easily and to further their education at tertiary levels”. He said
He further pointed out that, hundreds of students studying in various universities, Polytechnics and colleges of education outside the state was also been granted similar scholarships to further their education under Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu’s scholarship program in his constituency.
The chairman enjoined students who benefited from the scholarship scheme to make use of the money given to them judiciously for them to complete their study successfully.
In an interview with journalists, one of the beneficiary identified as Sajida Sahabi, commended the efforts of Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu for securing the scholarship to them, stressing that it would go along way in assisting them to complete their registration easily.
She urged other law makers representing Zamfara state to emulate Hon. Zubairu in assisting their constituents to further their education at tertiary levels.
