Gombe State Security and Civil Defence Corps says the deployment of its officers in tackling farmers and herders clash has reduced the destruction and theft of farm produce across the state.

NSCDC Mal. Muhammad Muazu made this known while briefing news men on the success recorded by the command in 2023.
According to him, during each farming season, the state use to experience huge loss of farm produce through theft and farmers/herders clashes.
The Commandant said the personnel deployed by the command to cattle routes to prevent Farmers/Herders from clashing would be sustained in the dry season.
He assured of continued synergy with other security agencies, community leaders and stakeholders in the state to insulate farmers from the vagaries of post harvest loss.
On the issue of cattle rustling, Mal. Muazu Muhammad said the command has recovered over 109 cattle and arrested some rustlers.
He assured that the command would remain vigilant through regular deployment of its personnel in areas where such crimes were being committed.
The Commandant also said during the year under review, the command had received 4,158 cases from the public and out of the number, 3,011 cases were treated while 1,147 were still pending in court.
He also said through the deployment of its conflict resolution mechanism, the anti-fraud unit of the command had recovered about 200 million Naira from parties involved in financial dispute.
He explained that where such mechanism had failed, the command resorted to using the courts as a means of settling the matter.
Also on illegal mining, Mal. Muazu Muhammad said the command had sealed many illegal mining sites, confiscated tools and products excavated and handed over to a Federal mining officer in the state.
He assured that the command would not relent in its effort to rid the state of all forms of criminal activities.
