The $20 billion Dangote Petroleum Refinery has issued tenders, targeted at exporting two fuel cargoes to the global market.
The 650,000 barrels per day Refinery had earlier announced the commencement of aviation fuel (Jet A1) and diesel refining in January 2024.
But in its report obtained by Hotpen yesterday, Reuters stated the Refinery has already awarded the export to Trafigura, one of the world’s largest suppliers of commodities, to export.
Available information has it that Trafigura was “Founded in 1993 to connect producers and consumers of minerals, metals and energy, reliably and responsibly.”
According to Reuters, the first cargo of 65,000 metric tonnes of low-sulfur straight-run fuel oil is scheduled for loading towards the end of February 2024 while the second will commence later.
