The Federal High Court sitting in Kano State has issued an interim injunction restraining Jigawa state government from taking any further step in the investigation of alleged misappropriation of N1.7 billion allocated for COVID-19 Economic Recovery and stimulation program ( J-CARES) Result area II under FADAMA project.
The court gave the injunction in a suite filed by the former Coordinator FADAMA III Jigawa state, Alhaji Aminu Isa Ringim challenging the process followed by the committee set up by the government to review the implementation of the J-CARES FADAMA intervention in the state.
Aminu Ringim pray for the court to restrained the Jigawa state government from using the reports until he was given a fair hearing.
In his rulling, Presiding Judge of the court, Justice Isa Liman gave an interim injunction restrained the Dependent/Respondent in the case not to publish gazetted, taken any action or extracting a “White Paper” from the committee report .
The Judge said, the restrictions shall be complied untill the determination of the court for the fair hearing and other concerns expressed by the complainant.
It can be recalled that, the state governor Malam Umar Namadi has ordered for a full investigation in the Implementation of the J-CARES FADAMA intervention on the alleged misappropriation of the funds allocated to the sector.
Contacted on the interim injunction the Jigawa state Anthony General, Barrister Bello Abdulkadir Fanini said, they are yet to receive the interim injunction which has only one week life span, and as soon as they receive they will study it and reply.
