No fewer than 3,110 pilgrims from Kano state arrived in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to undertake the 2024 sacred Hajj pilgrimage.
Hajj, is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially able to perform it.
Head of Media Team for Kano State pilgrims and spokesperson for the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, in a statement made available to newsmen said the contingent comprised both government-sponsored and privately sponsored individuals.
Garba Shuaibu stated that the pilgrims were welcome to the Holy city by officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The officials urged them to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout their stay in the holy city.
The statement explained that “Over the next few days, the pilgrims will perform various rituals, including circumambulating the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals, as they embark on this transformative spiritual journey.”
