The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has hinted that another strike could take place by the end of the month.
The union claims that if the federal government fails to sign a draft renegotiated agreement by May 2021, members will have no choice but to strike.
Professor Victor Emmanuel, the ASUU national president, stated this over the weekend at the union’s national executive council meeting in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital. .
He believes the government should be held accountable for any potential industrial unrest.
Professor Victor Emmanuel expressed the union’s hope that the government will sign the agreement as soon as possible in order to maintain and improve the current state of industrial peace on university campuses.
