Majority Leader Honorable Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu laid a Bill for a Law to make provision for the Management of Fund of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and other related matters 2021 before the Finance Committee.
According to the Joint Committee, the Fund Management Law is intended to ensure the accountability and transparency of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, ensure effective and efficient fund utilization, enable the House to exercise power over capital and recurrent expenditure and create an administrative structure that facilitates the effective operationalization of financial autonomy.
According to the report, the law will also make legislative business more effective, efficient, and timely, increase the visibility of the Clerk’s Office in matters of administration, legislative business, and the appropriation process, and allow for closer working relationships between the political and bureaucracy.
As a result, the Joint Committee advised that all 22 clauses in the Bill be kept in their current form.
The Committee’s recommendation was unanimously accepted by the House.
Honorable Majority Leader Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu requested that the Bill for a Law to Provide for the Management of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Fund and Other Related Matters 2021 be read a third time. The Minority Leader, Hon. Bakoji Aliyu Bobbo seconded him.
The Speaker calls for a voice vote on the motion, which the Honourable Members unanimously approve. The third reading was then carried out by the Clerk of the House, Umar Yusuf Gital Esq.
As a result, the Bill becomes law.
