The Birniwa people were thrown into mourning following the death of their District head, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, he died at the age of 98.
Late Aliyu Abubakar who until his death the Sarkin Arewa Hadejia, council member and kingmaker Hadejia emirate council died after a protractness illness in one of the hospital in Kano.
Hotpen reports that, Aliyu Abubakar was turbanned in 1982 by the then former Governor of the old Kano State, Late Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi, he was reported as the longest serving district head in tye history of Hadejia emirate.
In the history of Hadejia emirate, Late Aliyu Abubakar is the only person holding three titles:- Sarkin Arewan Hadejia, Council Member and Kingmaker Hadejia emirate council.
A respected elder traditional ruler, philantropy per excellence and listen ears leader whose kind gesture cannot be forgotten by the people of Birniwa, Hadejia and Jigawa State in general.
He is survived by one wife, who gave birth to five children two males and three females among them is the present Clerk, Jigawa State House of Assembly, Barrister Musa Aliyu Abubakar.
The deceased was laid to rest at his country home town in Birniwa, Birniwa local government area of Jigawa State after his funeral prayer at the emir’s palace in Hadejia attended by His Highness, Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Dr. Adamu Abubakar Maje and Emir of Machina in Yobe State, Alhaji Bashir Al-Bishir Bukar among others.
The emir of Hadejia described the deceased as a man of God whose generosity has touched the lives of his people, saying his death is a great loss not only to the people of Hadejia emirate or Jigawa State but the nation at large.
He prayed to Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. “His death has created a great vacuum to the emirate that will be difficult to fill in’. The monarch noted.
