Kebbi State government has Constituted a nine member Committee of enquiry on the recent Unrest in the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega
The committee was Constituted by the State Commissioner of Higher Education, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga on behalf of Governor, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu.
Briefing some Journalists on behalf of the Commissioner, Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Higher Education, Hussaini Abdullahi Zuru said, the committee is headed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hussaini Abdullahi Zuru and eight others as members.
Zuru mentioned other members as; Nura Fingilla, Magaji Abdullahi, Mohammed Mohammed Majo, Alhaji Hussaini A Tata, Usman Musa Suru, Abubakar Bagudo, Haruna Galadima and Aliyu Shehu Jega who will serve as Secretary of the committee.
According to Zuru, the committee is mandated to identify the remote causes of the students riots, external forces behind the quos and estimate the level of damage among others.
He said the committee has given up to two weeks to submit findings and recommendations to the government.
The committee leader has promised to work within the time-frame and also do justice to all.
Recalled that, some angry group of students of the College staged a protest on Thursday Oct 17 over allegation of extortion of the College fees which resulted in burning the residence and private vehicle owned by the Provost of the College, Sa’adu Haruna Sauwa.
