On Sunday in Abuja, some families of those purportedly killed by the military in Zaria in December 2015 met with Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement.
During the meeting with the invited guests, the Sheikh took the opportunity to express his condolences for their loved ones’ deaths. He exhorted them to never forget the persecution and tribulations endured by Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions when the terrible Yazid army besieged and massacred them.

When it comes to Allah’s path, no sacrifice is too great, he told his visitors.
Sheikh Zakzaky also apologized for having to welcome some of them to his residence and condole with them instead of him. “We still carry bullet pieces in our bodies as a result of the injuries we got during the military attack on us, and there is no way we can meet up with all of the victims and survivors of the savage military onslaught against us in December 2015,” he added.
Responding to Dr. Isa Waziri Gwantu’s address, who lost four of his children in the Zaria massacre, they expressed their thanks to the Sheikh for asking them to visit him in such a difficult situation and reaffirmed their vow to never quit the sheikh’s correct path.
Hajiya Jummai Karofi, who lost five of her children in the military attack on the Islamic movement in Zaria, added her voice to the chorus, saying she wants the killers of members of their families to know that what they did to them would never deter them from supporting Sheikh Zakzaky and the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. In fact, they are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in the name of Islam.

Finally, Sheikh Zakzaky appealed to Almighty Allah to give the martyrs’ families the strength to bear the unrecoverable losses they had experienced at the hands of the military.
He prayed to Allah to accept the martyrdom of the military’s victims.
