Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has said that we must discard our bad ways and seek for God’s forgiveness with all sincerity, if we desire to overcome the acute security challenges bedeviling the nation.
In a statement SIGNED by the Director General Media, Abdu Labaran Malumfashi said, Governor Masari spoke yesterday in Kabomo, Bakori Local Goverrnment Area, during the closing of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) candidate, Dr. Ibrahim Aminu’s campaign for the by-election for the vacant seat in the State House of Assembly, scheduled for tomorrow.
The Governor asserted that for too long we have deviated from the path of God, damming the consequences of our actions, even when all signals around are telling us to change our ways for the better.
Governor Masari in the statement said we must return to Allah, ask for His forgiveness and turn a new leaf in both our official and private conduct, if we want release from the vicious grip of insecurity in the land.
He said everybody had a role to play in the fight against banditry, insurgency and other debilitating criminal activities, all of which have envelope the nation with lethal consequences.
“All of us have a part to play to ensure a secure and safe environment, because security is everybody’s business.
“Other climes are secure and safe because their citizens do not fold their arms and leave everything to security operatives to take care of. They keep their eyes and ears open and pass on any information they believe might be useful to the relevant authorities”.
Governor Masari debunked claim by the youth to the effect that there were no jobs in the country, saying that there are many opportunities in Nigeria, available to those who genuinely seek for them.
“There are opportunities everywhere in the country. Government job is not the only work opportunity in the country.
“All what one requires is belief, commitment and determination, and the sky will be the limit.
The Katsina State Governor urged the people of Bakori Local Government Area to stick to and give their vote to the ruling party, declaring that the APC administration performed very credibly in delivering on its promises to deserve reelection at every level at all times.
