HOTPEN – The Chairman Gerawa Group of Companies, Alhaji Isah Gerawa has pledged to support President Muhammad Buhari led administration effort in food production, employment generation as well as reduction of rural urban migration to enhance the economic well being of the nation.
Speaking during the formal commission and flagg off of the second phase of Gerawa Rice Mills, Alhaji Isah Gerawa said, the rice mill has the capacity of producing 560 tons of paddy rice per day, added that the sum of N15bn was expended in the setting up of the company.
Represented by Malam Sa’idu Musa Abdullahi explained that apart from the rice mill, the Gerawa Group of companies has the biggest oil mill in Sub-Saharan Africa which gulped over N30bn in it’s construction, stated that President Buhari commissioned the oil mill with the capacity of producing 1,200 tons per day.
His words:-“This heavy investment has contributed greatly in creating employment to farmers and other operators in the Soyabean value chain in line with policy of the present administration”.
Isah Gerawa explained that the introduction, implementation and sustainance of the Anchor Borrower’s Program in 2015 has yielded positive impacts to the agricultural development of the state and Nigeria in general.
He assured the full commitment of his company to invest heavily in agriculture, as championed by the Buhari administration to boost agricultural production and enhance food security in the federation.
The Chairman/CEO further commended the CBN Governor, Godwin Emifele, Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Jigawa State Governor Badaru Abubakar, Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Bagudu and other dignitaries who graced the occasion.
