Yobe NUJ Partner Judiciary On Promotion Of Justice, Others

HOTPEN – The Yobe State officials of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ council led by the Chairman of the council Comrade Rajab Mohammed have paid and advocacy visit to the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama in his office in Damaturu.
Speaking during the advocacy visit, the chairman said the purpose of the visit is to strengthen working synergy between journalist and judiciary and solicit for his support and corporation towards the progress of the media activities in the state.
Comrade Rajab Mohammed also added that media is the fourth estate of the realm in assisting government to promote their activities, policies and programmes through enlightenment, educating and setting agenda for both the government and the governed.
Responding, the chief judge of the state, justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama expressed appreciation over the visit saying it is the first of its kind since he was sworn-in as substantive chief judge of the state.
He assured the NUJ leadership that, his office will work closely with the media to promote mutual understanding between government and the governed.
In his votes of thanks, chairman corespondents chapel Ahmed I Abba assured the readiness of the Union and media in the state towards working together with the judiciary for mutual understanding among the citizens.
He also commended the efforts of the Chief Judge for carrying journalist along.
The Entourage of the chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalist Comrade Rajab Mohammed comprises the Secretary of the Union, comrade Alhasan Sule Mamudo, Vice Chairman Mohammed Kalusha Bukar, chairman correspondent chapel Ahmed I Abba, Murjanatu Hamisu Yalwa among others.
