Just In: Former Kano Speaker, Al-hassan Rurum Dumps APC
HOTPEN – Former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Pension, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to our findings, Rurum, a gubernatorial aspirant in APC, was not satisfied with the decision of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to anoint his Deputy, Nasiru Gawuna, as his successor and Murtala Sule Garo as his running mate, ahead of the upcoming primary elections of the ruling party.
The action according to the former Speaker was unfair not only to him but to the Kano South Senatorial District that has not produced a governor or deputy since 1992.
Findings revealed that the former speaker will be announcing his new party in few days after consultation with members of his campaign directorate and political associates.
