The National Association of Nigerian Students in Sudan (NANNS) have appointed and conferred Grand Patronship on His Royal Highness the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa at his ancient palace in Potiskum Town on his recognition of his continued support to educational development.

In his brief inaugural address, Hassan Sunusi Ibrahim, Secretary-General NANNS Sudan told the monarch that “our recorgnition of your industrious support, giant solicitation and whole hearted consideration towards students’ we found you worthy to be appointed our Grand Patron. We are gratefully aware of your submissions and campaigns for good governance. Your adventures cover the massive Nigerian citizens at the grassroot level”.
” Your work and mindset of human building, your kindness and benevolent efforts to build Nigeria as a nation proved us right to deem you as the role model state person. Accordingly, this made us to see you appropriately fit for the position of Grand Patron of our noble association, National Association of Nigerian Students in Sudan.”
“We believe in your way to always consider the request of young Nigerians, that gave us the courage to request for your support on this capacity of Grand Patron”.
He revealed that Nigerian Students Association in Sudan leads the population of about 15,000 Nigerians studying in Sudan, “we appreciate your kind consideration now and always.”

In his acceptance speech, Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa expressed gratitude to the Sudan Students Association for finding him worthy of being appointed Grand Patron.
He assured to maximumlly support th students in the pursue of their learning.”Am overwhelmed with your way of thinking and commitment to learn irrespective of the distance, you are our ambassadors in Sudan, you are the leaders of tommorow and you have today exhibited a sense of maturity and honor. Our doors are always open for guidance and counseling to enable you succeed in your learning.”
The king also assured to inform other Emirs and Chiefs on the NANNS Sudan for collective partnership and support to Education.
The brief ceremony saw decorating the Emir of Fika by the leader of the delegation, Hassan Sunusi Ibrahim Secretary-General NANNS, Vice President of NANNS Sudan, Ahmad Bashir Modibbo and Academic Secretary, Sulayman Adam Mohammed.
