Zamfara state governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has today declared open the 37 national Quranic competition hosted by his administration in Gusau the Zamfara state capital.
Governor Matawalle while flagging off the National Quranic competition described it as a form of unity among Muslims in the country.
He maintained that the competition will enable the country to pick those who will represent Nigeria at the international Quranic competition among the contingents.
According to him, the competition will served as a yeardstic in praying for the restoration of peaceful coexistence in the country.
In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion also the governor of Borno state, Baba Gana Umar Zulum commended the Zamfara state government for sponsoring the event.
Governor Zulum donated the sum of N10 Million Naira for the successful 37 National Quranic competition holding in Zamfara state.
He urged Muslims ummah to pray for the restoration of peace in the country and remain united for the development of Islam and Quranic learning.
