The Zamfara state police command has rescued fifteen 15 kidnapped victims who were abducted along Tsafe-Gusau federal road last Monday.
The command public relations officer SP Muhammad Shehu has revealed at a press conference Thursday.
According to him, the joint task search and rescue operatives comprising vigilant and police have rescued the victims after an intensive search and rescue operation.
“After chasing the bandits to their hideouts by the joint task search and rescue operatives comprising vigilant and tactical police operatives, the bandits abandoned the victims and fled to the bush which led to the rescue by the police .
According to him, some of the victims were traveling from Abuja, Kaduna, Kebbi and Sokoto states on their various destination before kidnaping them.
Shehu stated that the kidnapped victims involved seven women, six men and two kids.
“Their rescue was as a result of deployment of joint search and rescue operatives by the command to the scene which led to successful rescue of the kidnapped victims “. He said
According to him, the victims were medically checked by the police and reunited with their relatives.
Shehu appealed to general public to cooperate with the police through given positive information about criminal activities to police for further action.
