The emergence of Alhaji Babangida Hussaini, (Walin Kazaure) as the APC’s Senatorial candidate to represent Jigawa North West in the Saturday’s 2023 general elections is a possibility of a political reformer to lead the zone into a limelight of adhering to sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He is many at times seen as a reformer (a social reformist in the gap of political icon). His firmed stand on issues that affect his locality as well as the state or rather the nation in general, often instigate him to pursue equality among Nigerians irrespective of their ethnic and religious affiliation, owing to which the politician strives hard to actualize a higher status for both rural and urban citizens.
Babangida`s versatile experience, as a former permanent secretary in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing left no one in doubt about his capacity to give good representation to the electorates within his constituency and beyond, considering his unbeatable record of achievements during his tenure.
Wali’s outstanding patriotic performance in the service of humanity is what really endeared him to the masses. This is because his service to humanity is not restricted to his hometown, as he often manages to extend his helping hand to those in need in other emirates and beyond. To be candid, Alhaji Babangida Hussaini, Walin Kazaure is viewed as an outstanding patriot that is determined to squarely dealt with major problems bedeviling the people in this 21st century. And the media expounded his views on how to stop rural urban migration.
Hence, it is his line of thinking to take more bills to the upper chamber of law making in the country solely to ensure positive development in the rural areas, most especially his stringent effort to improve agricultural sector, in such a way that farming will be turned into agricultural business (agribusiness) for all seasons.
However, this patriotic political pillar of Jigawa state, Alhaji Babangida Hussaini, Walin Kazaure can be weighed on a scale, most especially seeing the fact that, he worn the APC’s primary election with wide vote margin against his co-contestant (cum opponent). The man shows that he is doing the bidding of his people, he was quoted in the media to have stated that: “My people saddled me with responsibility of representing them.”
He categorically stated that a number of people from his senatorial zone invited him to contest election ‘in order to give them a fair representation. And that is the reason why he consulted various stakeholders and his family, friends and many well-wishers, who stand firmly behind him.
Moreover, his educational background and work experience give him more impetus to perform excellently if duly elected. Thus, by mere peeping through the summary of his Biodata, one will noticed that he has a versatile experience in administration and it reads: “Administrative affairs, educational planning, community development service delivery, with strong segmental expertise in: Public administrative affairs, policies and strategic matters; Initiative and implementation ability on public reasonable objectives; Participatory approaches and initiative abilities; Human resources development plans and capacity building; Educational administrative, planning and notional implementation. Work experience with administrative and educational consultants, donor-funded organizations, NGOs/CBOs, and international and national bodies.” The content is vividly explained. So, there is no need for interpretation. He holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Nigerian Defense Academy and BA from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University. Also, he spent 35 years serving the nation in different capacity.
In recognition to his service to the humanity, he won several awards and honours including, Outstanding Leadership Award, National Association of Yoruba Students (NAYs) 2018; Distinguish Merit Award , Voice of Northern Nigerian Students (VONNIS) 2018; Certificate of Conferment, As Grand Commander of Arewa Students (GCOAS), Arewa Students Forum, 2018; Certificate of Conferment, Oduduwa Youth Congress, 2018; Award of Excellence, National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPs) , 2018; Certificate of Merit/Award, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANs), 2016; Certificate of Appreciation/Award, Kazaure Emirate Council, 2015; Letter of Commendation/Award, The Presidency: Inter-Schools Debate, 2007; Certificate of Merit, University of Medina Alumni Association ,2006; and etc.
To cut a long story short, the patriotic performance of Alhaji Babangida Hussaini, Walin Kazaure in the service of humanity, his academic qualification, works experience and many honours and awards garnered clearly shows that the cap fit him to fully indulged in politics and give Jigawa state a fair representation at the upper chamber in the law making body of the country. What is now left to the people of Jigawa North West Senatorial Zone is to furnish him with nitty-gritty of major problems bedeviling them, as well as the state in general. With this in place, let us join hands together and actualize a senatorial reformers’ zone representation, in order to wax stronger in the 21st century.
