The All Progressive Congress APC chieftain in Zamfara state, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has lambasted four serving PDP governors over their challenging the presidential election which brought Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu of APC as president elect.
The governors according to Shinkafi included Governor of Sokoto state Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Bayelsa state, Adamawa among others who took the case before the supreme court recently challenging for the cancelation of the just concluded presidential election.
Shinkafi described the governor’s decision as unconstitutional, undemocratic and ignorance of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.
Shinkafi further revealed that, the affected governors are not wishing the nations well, challenging them for attempting to bring unrest among Nigerians.
“I wonder how these PDP governors who claimed to be lawyers are disrespected the Nigerian constitution by challenging the presidential election results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and calling on the apex court to cancelled the election”. He said
On the issue of new Naira notes, Shinkafi lauded the recent judgement made by the supreme court that old Naira notes will remain as legal tender till December this year after Zamfara governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle and four others challenged Federal government and CBN on redesigning the New Naira notes.
Shinkafi commended Zamfara state governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle and his counterpart governors for their concerned to the hardship that the Nigerians are been facing as a result of cashless policy by taking legal action against the matter to salvage Nigerians from the current socioeconomic stagnant they are facing.
He also called on president Muhammadu Buhari, attorney general of the federation and CBN governor to respect the supreme court judgement on old Naira notes transition period to December this year.
“I want to call on president Muhammadu Buhari, attorney general of the federation and CBN governor to respect the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria and the apex court judgement on old Naira notes denominations to remain as legal tender till December this year to salvage Nigerians from the current socioeconomic predicament”. Shinkafi stated.
