The Hadejia Emirate Zakkat Committee has disbursed over N12.2m zakkat to less priviledged in Birniwa District.
The secretary of the committee, Engineer Ismail Garba made this known to newsmen shortly after the distribution
He said the items collected from farmers, wealthy individuals and cattle rearers include 594 bags of millet, one bag of bean,17 muds of grains, 9 sheep and goats, one cow, one bag of rice and twenty six thousand naira cash.
The chief Imam of Hadejia emirate , Mallam Yusif Abdulrahman called on muslims ummah to always give out zakkat as one of the five pillars of Islam.
On his part, the District head of Birniwa, Sarkin Arewan Hadejia, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar has commended the people of the area for given out zakkat and promised to put more effort on zakkat collection.
