Sequel to recent bitter exchanges bordering on faith amongst clerics in Bauchi State,the state Government warned that, decisive action will henceforth be taken against erring preachers who use inciting comments while preaching against their opponents.
The Bauchi State Government has sounded a stern warning to clerics who are in fond of using inciting comments during their preachings that are found to be capable of causing disharmony among their followers.
Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, Secretary to the State Government sounded the warning shortly after meeting with heads of security at the government House in Bauchi.
The state chief Scribe frowned at the manner in which some religious preachers use deregatory remarks against other sects, maintaining that religion is a sensitive issue that can be used to stir violence in a peaceful society.
He reiterated that, the Bauchi State Government will take the necessary action to ensure that preachers respect the views of each other without throwing their followers into unnecessary tensions.
On Security trends, the SSG directed security agencies to fish out, arrest and mercilessly deal with elements of the notorious Sara Suka gang operating in some parts of the State.
In a speech, the State Commissioner of Police, Amin Alhassan pledged to work hand in hand with other security operatives to intensify efforts in tackling upsurge of crime in parts of the State.
