Barely five days after he was suspended from the party for attending the inaugural ceremony of NNPP Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Northwest Ex-Officio of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Jahun has resigned his appointment with immediate effect.
Hotpen reports that, the Jigawa state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had on the 1st of June, 2023 issued one month suspension to Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Jahun, the Northwest Ex-Officio of the Party, the one paragraph letter was signed by the State’s Secretary of Jigawa PDP, Honourable Isa Bello dated 01/06/ 2023.
The PDP national officer announced his resignation while speaking to newsmen in Dutse, said he decided took the decision after receiving a suspension letter for one month from the JIgawa state working committee of People Democratic Party.
Alhaji Aminu Jahun admitted that it is true that he attended the inaugural ceremony of the Kano State NNPP Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf on invitation, saying “I’m sure my suspension has to be linked with my attendance. I received a telephone call from the SWC and was invited to the state headquarter, I was asked whether it is true that i honored the NNPP invitation? I quickly replied to them, yes i do.
“They expressed gratitude to me for honouring the invitation and discussion. Immediately after leaving them I was served with one month suspension letter from the party. So if this is the reason I left the party.” Jahun added.
Aminu Jahun explained that, he has in PDP for over 24-years, served in different positions like the State Publicity Secretary, Vice Chairman in charge of Jigawa Central Senatorial district and elected as the Northwest Ex-Officio member of the party in Kaduna.
He further stated that, he had no regrets attending the inauguration since he had not violated any section of the law or guidelines of the PDP by attending the function, noted that if the Jigawa state governor, Umar Namadi, who is the All Progressives Congress formally invited him he would honour the invitation as well.
Jahun has however stressed that, he will soon make his next line of action within 48-hours, called his teeming loyal supporters who believe that he has made enough contributions to the PDP, to remain calm and await his decision.
