Jigawa State Task Force on Petroleum products says it will not hesitate to take drastic measures against any filling station found to be tempering with it’s pump to shortchange customers.
The Taskforce Chairman, Colonel Muhd Alhassan (Rtd) sounded the warnings when he lead members of the committee for an inspection visits to some petrol stations in the state capital and environs.
He expressed dismay with the attitude of some stations for tempering with their pumps, added that even though the committee has no control over prices but it has stake on ensuring that petrol stations did not temper with with their pumps.
Col. Alhassan (Rtd) explained that the taskforce has identified some filling stations are in the habit of readjusting their pumps for selfish interest warning that the committee is working hand in hand with midstream and downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency to sanction any marketer found wanting.
He stated further that, the inspection exercise would be extended to all nooks and crannies of the state.
