Plan is under way by the federal government to upgrade the federal medical center Gusau, Zamfara state to University Teaching Hospital for the federal university Gusau FUGUS.
This was made known by the medical director of the Federal Medical Center Gusau FMC, Dr. Bello Mohammed in an interview with journalists in his office Friday.
According to him, already the bill has passed first and second reading by the national assembly for the upgrading the hospital waiting for third reading.
“When the bill passed third reading it will be send to the office of the president for final assenting”. He said
According to him, when the hospital upgraded to University Teaching Hospital, the medical students of the federal university Gusau will be given opportunity to have access for their practical during their study period.
Our correspondent reports that, the managing director of the federal medical center Gusau Dr. Bello’s tenure has been renewed for second term by the federal government.
Dr. Bello further noted that the hospital under his watch during his second term period, will give much emphasis on staff welfare, mordanization of healthcare delivery services, training and retraining of staff and provision of adequate manpower respectively.
He appealed to all the staff of the hospital to rededicate commitments in serving humanity for the development of the hospital.
