The Zamfara State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command, Commandant Sani Mustapha has upgraded the Damba outpost in Gusau Local Government Area to a full fledge Divisional Office.
The spokes person of the command Ikor Oche has said in a statement made available to Hotpen Wednesday.
The Commandant Sani Mustapha while commissioning the upgraded division thanked the Commandant General, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi mni OFR for the initial approval given to the Corps in Zamfara State to upgrade some outposts to the rank of Divisional Office.
He further averred that, given the security challenges that have bedeviled Damba metro in recent times, it is therefore sacrosanct to upgrade the outpost to a full Division to enable the Corps stem the tide of insecurity in the state.
The NSCDC Boss, posits that he is poised to establish a robust security network in Gusau metro in order to forestall insecurity as witnessed in the past.
The security consummate therefore extolled the doggedness of the Damba Community and the stakeholders who have benevolently donated the office edifice to the Corps. Commandant Sani Mustapha averred that NSCDC in Zamfara State under his administrative purview will ensure a holistic support for the new division to strive and excel in security business.
“The Damba Division is expected to cover Saminaka Merere, Lalan, Gidan kwagira and other areas within Damba metro.”
He also attached a hilux vehicle to the office and therein appointed DSC Sanusi Danmani as the Divisional Officer in charge of Damba Division. A redeployment letter was therefore issued to him during the unveiling and commissioning of the new division.
Commandant Sani Mustapha who harps on synergy with other sister agencies, also called on the Damba Community accord the Division all needed support to enable it function effectively.
Meanwhile, the District head of Damba Alh. Sambo Ciroma gave thanks to almighty God for a dream come true in Damba metro. He extolled the doggedness of the Corps in the area of security management and the fight against insecurity in the state.
The monarch also appreciated all the stakeholders who have contributed to the success of the establishment of the Division. Alh. Sambo however assured the community and the Corps of a full fledge support to the division.
He also promised that in no distant time, the community will provide a more befitting edifice for the smooth activities of the Corps in Damba metro.
Notable among those present at the commissioning ceremony were, the representative of the Divisional Police Officer in Damba, ASP Ma’aji and the ASF Aminu Umar of the Fire Service.
Highlights were the symbolic commissioning of the office complex, unveiling of the office Sign post and the official handing over of the office vehicle to the Division officer through the District head of Damba.
