The Senator representing Zamfara North, Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura has rendered Free Medical Outreach services to 5000 poor and less privilege persons across the four local government areas of his constituency in the state.
About thirty five (35) medical Doctors were assigned to attend patients, Examine patients, provide them with free drugs and perform operation where necessary.
Speaking with newsmen on Friday shortly after flagging off the exercise, Senator Sahabi Ya’u represented by the Coordinator of the programme Alhaji Abba Isah, hinted that the Senator’s free medical outreach would reach the hard to reach areas across 4 local governments he is representing .
According to him, the exercise consisted provision of free drugs on Diabetes, Hypertension and Malaria to the less privilege persons in the area.
Other health related operations includes, free eye operation, free medical glasses, operate hyanea, person with dental problem would all be examine, treated and provide them with free drugs respectively.
“A total of five thousand (5000) poor and less privilege persons male and female would benefit from the exercise across the 4 local government areas of my constituency.”
Hotpen gathered that the program was flagged off at Kaura Namoda General Hospital in Kaura town were people from four local government areas of Kaura Namoda, Zurmi, Birnin Magaji and Shinkafi with different ailments are to receive free medication.
Also speaking, the head of medical team for the outreach Dr Kamal S. Umar from Vision Savers said a team of 35 medical Doctors were engaged and would examine, perform operation and provide free drugs to benefitting patients.
Dr Kamal revealed that three thousand people would receive eye treatment with either surgery or free glasses.
He called on wealthy individual to emulate the kind gesture of Senator Sahabi Ya’u in assisting poor and less privileged people, particularly in the area of health.
