
JSGS Signs MOU with Donor Agencies for the upgrade of central health facility

Jigawa State government through the ministry of health has signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and handing-over for the renovation and upgrade of State’s Health Central Storage facility with the aim of transforming it to modern and international standard.
In a statement signed and made available to Hotpen by the Public Relations Officer of the
Ministry, Najib Umar, said the project which will consumed about N776 million will be financed by “Global Fund” an international partners that based it’s supports on combatting and eradication of HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria from the countries around the world, while the project will have the facilitation of UNICEF for the execution of the Project.
Speaking During the signing of the MOU, and handing-over of the facility, Commissioner of Health, Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi Kainuwa reiterates the state government’s commitment in continuing partnering with the Global Fund and UNICEF for the provision of good health care services to the people in the state as one of the cardinal mission of Governor Umar Namadi led administration.
He further stated that the project will be completed within five months, added that the partners are currently holding this kind of gesture in about 22 states of the federation including the federal capital, Abuja. “Kano, Katsina and Jigawa are among the states in the northwestern geopolitical zone”. He noted.
He commended UNICEF for their tremendious contributions in the health sector, stated that, they have committed alot of fund in dollars along side another partners Gavi in what is called Health Care Strengthening Programme, especially in the aspect of service delivery, capacity building provision of equipment among other important components.
