Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State on Saturday tasked judges of the 38th edition of the State Qur’anic Recitation Competition to discharge their duties with utmost fear of Allah.
The Governor gave the advice while declaring open, the 38th edition of this year’s State Qur’anic Recitation Competition held in Kafin Madaki, headquarters of Ganjuwa local government area of the state.
Represented by his Deputy, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, the Governor, noted that the introduction of Qur’anic Recitation Competition since 1986 has immensely contributed in engaging youths to concentrate on the learning and memorization of the holy Qur’an.
He appreciated the outstanding performance of Bauchi State delegates in the competition at both National and International levels over the years, saying the excellent performance of the delegates informed the decision of the state government to be supporting the annual conduct of the Qur’anic Competition by providing the requirements of both the organizers and participants.
“I am aware that about 240 pupils, both male and female will participate in the 38th edition of this year’s State Qur’anic Recitation Competition in six (6) categories, out of which only 12 pupils will be selected to represent the State at the National Competition. There is therefore the need for each and every participant to work hard, and obey the rules and regulations in the competition to enable him or her to be selected to represent the State in the forthcoming National Musabaqa scheduled to hold in Yobe State.”
Governor Bala Mohammed called on the Commissioner, Ministry of Religious Affairs ad Societal Re-orientation, Caretaker Chairman, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, Chairman and members of the State Qur’anic Recitation Competition Committee to work tirelessly towards ensuring the success of the programme.
“I wish to thank the Almighty Allah for spearing our lives to witness the opening ceremony of the 38th edition of the State Qur’anic Recitation Competition. May the Almighty Allah reward whoever contribute spiritually, morally and financially for the success of the competition with Jannatu Firdausi.” Ameen.
