The Zamfara state universal basic education board newly appointed chairman Prof. Nasiru Garba Anka has Wednesday assumed office as he pledged to revive basic education system in the state.
Prof. Anka stated this in an interview with newsmen shortly after he assumed office at the state universal basic education board in Gusau Wednesday.
According to him, he will focus on reduction of our school children to ensure every child have access to basic education across the state.
“The board under my watch will work assiduously to ensure our children get access to basic education and address the lingering challenges of out of school children.” He said.
Prof. Anka further stated that the board will partner with all development partners as well as the state ministry of education to succeed.
“We are welcoming all development partners who are willing to support the state government for the development of education system in the state”. Said Prof. Anka
He pointed out that training and retraining of teachers under the board will be given top priority during his stewardship as chairman with a view to have quality education to children across the state.
“I will concentrate on rigorous training and retraining of our primary and secondary schools teachers in order to have quality basic education in the state”. He added
It would be recalled that on Tuesday, Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal in a statewide broadcast has declared a state of emergency on education in Zamfara State.
Prof. Anka called on every stakeholders in education as well as senior and junior staff of the board to give him all the necessary support and cooperation to succeed.
