Jigawa state Governor, Umar Namadi has expressed his readiness to support the Nigerian custom service in tackling the activities of economic saboteurs through smuggling in the state.
The Governor stated this while receiving the Nigerian Customs Service Controller in charge of Kano and Jigawa Command, Controller Dauda Ibrahim Chana at Goverment House in Dutse.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the Senior Special Assistant Media Affairs, Zainab Shuaibu Rabo, Governor Namadi affirmed his government’s unflinching commitment to restore to life the export trade zone, at Maigatari Border Free Zone to boost the economy of the state as well as providing job creation among the teeming youth in the state, which forms ones of his cardinal agenda of job creation.
Moreover, the Governor further shopped up to Nigerian Customs Service to assist the state Government in providing professional expertise that will acquaint the state in reviving the export trade zone in the state.
On his part, the NCS Boss in Jigawa state, Dauda Ibrahim Chana commended the Jigawa state government for all the support given to state security agencies in the state, assured the state governor of his unwavering commitment to partner with Jigawa state in tackling smuggling as well as providing the professional advice as an enabling ground for the revival of the export trade zone in Maigatari.
He expressed his happiness for the kind reception and convey his firm gratitude to foster the existing synergy betweeen the state and Nigerian Customs Service.
