The Chairman, Police Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Makki Yalleman says, the Nigeria Police will be transformed in 2024 and will never be the same.
The Chairman gave the assurance while speaking on NTA Parliament Programme, “Feedback” monitored in Jos, Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.
Hon. Yalleman explained that, under his leadership as the Chairman of Police Affairs, he will make sure that in 2024 budget there is enough fund to encourage the police officers in terms of arms, in terms of train the trainees and in terms of training officers outside the country.
“We must intensify our internal security. It’s the responsibility of the Police. They are the first stakeholders.
“I know that in the past they were not being recognised financially but, God’s willing with the cooperation of IG and we the Parliament, we will make sure we encourage the Police and they will change beyond expectation,” he said.
The Police Affairs Boss also noted that they will monitor the utilization of all funds that will be released to the Police.
“Whenever we appropriate funds to the Police, we will make sure that the fund is used for the purpose it is given. That is our mission.”
Yellaman, who is representing Malam Madori/Kaugama federal constituency in Jigawa state and serving his second time in the National Assembly, appealed to the people to cooperate and assist them for the success of their proposed reforms of the Police.
