A member representing Maru and Bungudu local government areas in Zamfara state at the house of representatives Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannah has consoled with his constituents in Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government over recent bandits’ attacks in the area.
Speaking to newsmen in Gusau on Monday after the condolence visit to the affected communities, Zubairu lamented the rising of insecurity to banditry in the area.
According to him, the bandits recently attacked some communities in the area and kidnapped over 100 residents.
The lawmaker, who spent a night in the affected communities, lamented how insecurity had crippled socio economic activities in the area.
“I paid a condolence visit to the emir of Dansadau and district heads of Dankurmi, Bindin and Dangulbi districts over the incessant bandits attacks on communities in the area”.
He described the resurgence of banditry in his constituency as worrisome and need for urgent steps by the federal government to contain the situation .
“It is serious alarming and unfortunate on how the insecurity had negatively affected the livelihoods of my constituents which led to increase of socioeconomic hardship among my constituents” the lawmaker said.
He lamented that his constituents in the rural communities can no longer go to farms and other day-to-day commercial activities do to resurgence of banditry in his constituency.
Hon. Zubairu promised urgent intervention on the lingering insecurity vedivilled his constituency by the National Assembly with a view to find out modalities in addressing it.
During the visit Hon Zubairu directed the referral of all victims of the attack to Gusau and Kano for further treatments and also supplying of medical and health facilities to the renovated Dansadau General Hospital.
He also pointed out that 50 motorized will be drilled across the 5 political wards of Dandasadau emirate under his constituency.
He also order the construction of Primary Health Centre and Primary School in Kuyambana ward instantly during the sympathy visit.
