A former employee of Voice of America, VOA Hausa Service, Alhaji, Kabiru Usman Fagge is dead.
He died in America due to illness.
Kabiru Usman Fagge was born in Kano on the 12th day of September 1946.
In 1956 he was enrolled at Fagge Primary School in Kano, and in 1969 he completed his secondary education in Kuka Siniya.
He went to Bichi Teacher Training College where he spent three years, and then graduated from Kano Teacher Training College, KTC in 1970, where he obtained a Grade 2 teaching certificate.
From 1971-74, he worked as a teacher at Tudun Wada Primary School in Kano, then he returned to study at Bayero University under ABU Zaria.
Before joining Voice of America, Alhaji Kabiru Usman Fagge worked at NTA Kano in 1976. Prior to that, he worked at the New Nigerian newspaper publishing company and the Nigerian Pilgrims Commission.
While he was with the Hausa Section, Alhaji Kabiru Fagge worked as a program presenter and newsreader.
Among the programs he introduced was “Education Shields Humanity”. and “American Press Review” which he presents every week.
The late Kabiru Fagge worked for the Hausa Section of Muryar Amerika from June 1989, until June 2014 when he retired as Editor-in-Chief.
His funeral prayer will be held tomorrow Saturday at 12:15 pm at the Prince George Muslim Association (PGMA) mosque.
Alhaji Kabiru Fagge passed away leaving behind his wife, children, and grandchildren.
