The Federal University Gusau Zamfara state has matriculated a total of 2865 students to run various degree programs for 2022-2023 academic session.
The vice chancellor of the university Prof. Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau has said at the formal matriculation ceremony held at the University Campus Wednesday.
According to him, in the 2022/2023 academic session, out of 5669 candidates through both UTME and DE who applied, only 2865 were successfully secured admission for to study in the university.
The vice chancellor urged the new admitted students to shun any forms of social vises that could damage the image of the university.
Prof. Gusau charged the fresh students to adhere to the university rules and regulations, which included, personal discipline, high moral standards and respect for the constituted authorities governing the university during their studentship.
“You must not indulge yourself in exam malpractice, cultism, sexual harassment, theft, drugs abuse and other irregularities during your stay in the university as students for 2022/2023 academic session”. He added.
On security issues, the vice chancellor advised the fresh students to be extra vigilant and security conscious as they go about their daily activities.
He commented federal government and Zamfara state government for the support given to the university for the development of education, teaching and learning processes.
He pointed out that the management of the university will continue to saveguard the students and ensure adequate security of their life and properties during their studentship in the university.
