The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC described the death of an elder statesman in person of Alhaji MZ Anka as a great loss not only to his family but Zamfara state and country at large.
The state publicity secretary of the party, Yusuf Idris has said in a statement made available to Hotpen in Gusau Saturday.
The statement reads in part, “On behalf of the entire members of the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC, the Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani wishes to extend his condolences to the immediate and extended family members of the late Muhammad Z. Anka”.
The party described Late MZ Anka as a wise politician and gentleman, who was Nigeria’s one-time ambassador to Libya, has left a lasting legacy in the history of our dear state.
“Late Anka was a People’s Democratic Party PDP Gubernatorial Candidate at the begining of civilian regime in 1998 in Zamfara State”.
“He will strongly remembered for his significant contributions to the creation of Zamfara State out of the old Sokoto state in 1996, after which he ventured into the state’s governorship race under the PDP but lost to the APP in kick-starting civilian administration in Zamfara”.
The party also described Late. MZ Anka as an elder statesman whose contributions to the development of Zamfara and the old Sokoto states will remain indelible in the minds of many citizens of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole.
“His boldness and fearless nature of telling the truth was quite unique, which earned him much respect among his peers.”
The party pray Almighty Allah to reward his soul with Jannaatu Firdausi and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Late Muhammad Z. Anka who died at the age of 81 years, left behind two wives, 13 children and many grandchildren and was also the Magajin Garin Anka who also passed through Sokoto Middle School and the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in his educational career.
