Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has declared Alhaji Aji Kolomi Ajiko as the winner of the primaries ahead of the bye-election for Yobe East Constituency in the National Assembly.
The Chairman of the Electoral
Committee, Senator Adamu Gumba, who declared the result in Damaturu, Yobe state capital, said Hon Aji Kolomi won the election with 191 votes.
Hon Kolomi Aji kolo defeated his closest contender, Alhaji Mustapha Sheriff Mashidimami, who got 31 votes.
Gumba further disclosed that Alhaji Mohammed Alkali scored only 4 votes.
Dr. Aji Kolomi in his acceptance speech, commended the electoral committee over the exercise he described as free and fair.
He urged his fellow contestants to rally round his and give him the needed support that would guarantee the victory of the party at the forthcoming polls.
He, however, assured the party supporters he would uphold the confidence reposed
on him.
Dr. Kolo called on the People Democratic Party supporters of Yobe East senatorial district to come out mess to vote him for the Senate.
