The Zamfara state government has debunked recent reports went viral on some media outlets that one of the ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party arrested in connection with supply of ammunition to bandits in the state.
The special Adviser on political matters to the governor Dauda Lawal Hon. Yahaya Yari made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen in his office Sunday.
Yari described the reports as malicious and baseless, describing it as politically motivated.
“I can clearly stated that the alleged person arrested by the military for supplying arms and ammunition to bandits is not PDP card carrying member so the state government considered the reports as uncalled for and an attempt by some people to ridiculously damage the image of the government of our governor Dr. Dauda Lawal by all means”. Yari said.
He appealed to media practitioners in the state to always verify their information before going to press .
“We are calling on media reporters to shun any misguided information in their reportage as the state government under the leadership of governor Dauda Lawal is always committed to rescue Zamfara from all misfortune.” He further hinted.
Hon. Yari urged good people of the state to always give maximum support to the state government in its efforts to transform the state to greater hight.
“we are enjoining the good people of the state to remain calm and support the government under the leadership of governor Dauda Lawal in his bid to rescue the state from insecurity and other socioeconomic setback “.
